The mission of the NPHS Fly Fishing and Cold Water Conservation Club is to teach students the art of fly fishing while at the same time, developing an understanding of cold water ecosystems and conservation methods to help maintain their aquatic health. The club has equipment such as waders, fly rods & reels, and lures for students to use on their fishing trips. Students are taught how to cast a fly rod, tie fly’s, properly land fish, tie knots, and more. The club has an official fishing trip every month beginning in November. The club is financially supported by the Cohutta Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Georgia Council of Trout Unlimited. Mr. Rodney Tumlin is the staff sponsor of this club.
